Closes Two-Day Conversation on Global Topics

— More than 1,500 young and innovative business leaders from
80 countries convened in Barcelona on 26 and 27 February for the Global Leadership Summit, hosted by YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization). YPO’s annual flagship event centered around the theme
“Thriving in Any Environment” and featured keynote speakers Sir Richard Branson, founder and president of Virgin Group; Dr. Pankaj Ghemawat, professor of global studies at IESE Business
School; and Padmasree Warrior, the chief technology officer at Cisco.
The Summit focused on globalization, technology and communications, and the environment and sustainability, all topics identified by YPO members as being areas where business and opportunity
intersect.
“Only in the trusted YPO network can leaders at the forefront of cutting-edge strategies learn from each other the best ways to face today’s business challenges,” said YPO International Chairman
Simon Preston, chairman of the United Kingdom-based iammoving.com and director of magnom.com. Participants engaged in an open dialogue with industry leaders on the three key topics and later
shared their experiences and insights in small, breakout discussions.
“The Global Leadership Summit is the perfect example of how YPO develops better leaders through
education and networking,” said Incoming International Chairman Jill Belconis, the president of Shelter Mortgage Company, a real estate mortgage financing concern based in Chicago. “Members
were able to truly hone and refine their leadership skills and position themselves for success in this ever-changing global climate.”
